An antique brooch becomes a ring.
The original piece was no longer worn. Its rubies and diamonds inspired a new composition that retains its presence while giving it a very different purpose.

From our first conversation to the finished piece.
The project begins by observing the brooch and its gemstones. Drawing reorganises their rhythm and explores a new presence on the hand. The finished ring retains the memory of the original piece without reproducing its form. The images bring together the brooch, the design studies and the details of the result. This new purpose gives the same gemstones a different place: they move from a jewel worn on clothing to a composition designed for the hand.
